Favourites from PFW A/W 2012 (So far….)
I could write more about these particular collections but I really don’t have the time nor inclination to be honest. SO here’s my brief rundown:
Anthony Vaccarello- I loved the satin midnight blue jacket with pants and mostly the final 3 looks.
Gareth Pugh- Look 14 was my favourite out of the entire collection. Although I wasn’t blown away as I have been consistently by his past collections. The slate grey and black with silky texture used throughout was most appealing.
Mugler- Look 27, the black knee length long sleeve dress, 8 the all white knee length pencil skirt and top with a beautifully precise cut, 21 black dress with 2 tiny segments of white. You can look at this collection and just instantly KNOW that it must be Mugler. Having such a recognisable sense of style and renowned aesthetic is what makes Mugler have the desired pull that it still has to this day.
Ann Demuelemeester- Black & midnight blue with the differing textures and the variety of textures used within the collection. The satin midnight blue matching skirt & top was what I adored the most.
Balmain-Patterened structured jackets, velvet jackets, leather pants, the styling with the mid-calf length skirts, gold belt and leather jacket especially appealed to me. I cannot even imagine the time and effort meticulously spent on the elaborate hand-worked details of this collection.
Nina Ricci- Looks 1, 2, 18, 40, 44. This collection was mainly based in black, so of course I found it easy to sieve through and find my favourite looks. The stand out was again, a black sheer dress, kind of wonderfully imperfect in it’s appearance, which I found quite endearing.
